Walk, Discussion & Children’s Drawing Competition: The Urban Tank, Kanagan Eri
SunDAY, 9 FEBRUARY | 8:50 Am to 11:00AM | Meet at Sri Vinayagar Temple, Kanaganeri, Reddiarpalayam
In celebration of the Pondicherry Heritage Festival’s focus on Pondicherry’s water bodies, the French Institute of Pondicherry and Kanaganeri Welfare Association are organizing a guided walk around Kanagan Eri. This event open to all the Pondicherians, especially children.
Schedule of Events
8:50 am Meeting Place: Sri Vinayagar Temple, at the south east corner of Kanagan tank.
9:00 am Walk around the lake, with explanations provided at some key places about biodiversity, water management, urban nature and good environmental practices.
10:00 am Drawing and singing. Two drawings shall be requested from each child: i) how they see the lake presently; ii) how they dream to see it in the future.
11:00 am Distribution of prizes to all the children who participate by the Lt. Governor of Pondicherry, Hon. Kiran Bedi.
